ALUK ALUMINIUM CASEMENT & BAY WINDOWS, SECURE ENTRANCE DOOR SUPPLIED & FITTED IN HENDON, NORTH LODNON
Located near Hendon Central Station in North London, this residential project at Hendon Way featured the bespoke supply and professional installation of a wide range of AluK aluminium window and door systems, designed to deliver both visual sophistication and modern performance. With a consistent dual-colour finish of anthracite grey (RAL 7016M) externally and HIPCA white internally, the project aimed to enhance energy efficiency, security, and architectural harmony across the property. Every window and door was fabricated using thermally broken AluK 58BW and 58BD profiles, paired with high-performance double-glazing and finished with key functional additions such as trickle vents, child safety restrictors, and 150mm drop nose cills.
The project included 2 large bay window elements, each featuring four fixed sashes and two side-hung opening windows. These three-part bay windows were configured at a 61.8-degree angle to maximise natural light and space, using slim mullion and transom profiles for minimal sightlines. Additionally, 3 further aluminium casement windows were installed, each comprising two side-hung openers and a central fixed sash, and finished with white hardware, dummy sashes, and trickle ventilation.
We also fitted 2 window units with a single side-hung window and a fixed pane, again incorporating child restrictors for safety and maintaining visual continuity with the rest of the installation.
One top-hung aluminium window was added for ventilation in a smaller aperture, glazed with satin-finish obscure glass for privacy. Like the other windows, this unit featured white espagnolette handles and a grey trickle vent to match the frame colour.
The door installations included two sets of residential aluminium double doors, both hinged inward with the left leaf acting as the master. These French door systems were manufactured using AluK profiles and fitted with white handles on the interior, white hinges, trickle vents, and finger bolts for additional security.
Another key feature of the project was the installation of a larger casement window element comprising two side-hung sashes and two fixed panes, all equipped with slimline hardware and concealed drainage. Additionally, a wide bay window composed of three fixed panes and two side-hung openers was installed as a three-part unit, with joint kits and poles for structural reinforcement.
One of the aluminium door units featured a single residential entrance door flanked by two fixed side panels. This door included a matte aluminium lower panel, black lever handle inside, and a stainless steel pole handle externally for modern aesthetic appeal. A fail-safe electric strike and master key cylinder were integrated for additional security, and a black letterplate was installed on the lower central panel.
All units were glazed with clear or obscure double glazing, using toughened float or laminated glass to meet safety and energy efficiency standards. Every window and door installed used AluK’s thermally broken aluminium systems, renowned for their durability, clean design lines, and outstanding thermal insulation.
