MODERN ALUMINIUM CASEMENT WINDOWS & DOORS, 7-LEAF BI-FOLDING DOOR INSTALLED IN WOODLAND WAY, NORTH LONDON
At Woodland Way, N21, near Winchmore Hill Station in North London, we supplied and installed a complete aluminium glazing system comprising a total of 13 bespoke products, including a combination of aluminium doors and casement window systems, all fabricated using the Etem E45 and Etem E39 thermal break aluminium profiles and finished in a sleek matt black powder coating.
The centrepiece of the project was a 7-leaf aluminium bi-folding door manufactured using the Etem E39 thermal break system, fitted with double toughened low-emission glazing (4mm – 15mm argon – 4mm) delivering a Ug-value of 1.0 W/(m²·K), along with integrated trickle vents and a full aluminium cill for water management. We also installed a main aluminium entrance door with two full-height fixed glass panels on either side, constructed using the Etem E45 thermal break system and secured with a five-point locking system.
The project included ten aluminium windows of varying configurations, designed to optimise ventilation and light while maintaining high thermal performance. These included two multi-panel windows, each incorporating six fixed glazing panes, two bottom-hung windows, and two side-hung casement windows; one window featuring two fixed glass panes, two bottom-hung sashes, and two side-hung vents; and one window with two fixed glass panes, two side-hung vents, and one bottom-hung casement vent. Another aluminium window included four fixed glass panels, one bottom-hung vent, and one side-hung sash, while another combined two side-hung windows with one fixed glass panel.
We also installed a large combination window featuring three bottom-hung sashes, two side-hung casement windows, and one fixed centre glass panel, along with a window containing two bottom-hung vents, two side-hung windows, and four fixed glazed panels. Additional products included a single top-hung window, a casement window with one side-hung sash and one fixed glass panel, and a single side-hung window. Each aluminium window and door was glazed with 24mm double-glazed sealed units comprising 4mm toughened outer glass, 15mm argon-filled cavity, and 4mm toughened inner pane, achieving excellent thermal insulation with Ug-values of 1.0 W/(m²·K). All windows were equipped with trickle vents, 135mm projecting cills, and colour-matched black handles and hinges.
Finally, we supplied and fitted an aluminium single-leaf casement door combining a frosted glass panel on the upper half with a solid aluminium panel on the lower half, offering privacy without sacrificing natural light. This comprehensive installation reflects our capability to deliver fully customised aluminium glazing systems, combining security, energy efficiency, and architectural cohesion for residential developments in North London.
